For the past two days, there has been a huge auction going on. A lady from our church was selling loads of stuff from her house. There were 3 tents, and each tent had about 3-4 rows, with about 3-4 tables in a row. SO much stuff! A lot of it was vintage and beautiful too :) The property was gorgeous!!! There was a creek, a train track, gorgeous old barns, a gazebo, corn fields, and a beautiful old stone house! The perfect photographers place! Joelle spent lots of time down by the creek, which is unfortunately infested with snakes :P However, they were all gone when we were there because of the load noises and people :)
Mid blink :)
Much better!
She's such a goober!
Her hair is so long and beautiful...
I made Joelle pose against this beautiful old barn, hence the face :)
It didn't turn out too well.
See that??? This house was built in 1775! It is soo old, but in beautiful condition!
Funny story...
We were driving past this thing, and I said to mom 'Hey, that's a cool refrigerator!'... And then she said 'Umm, Emily, that's a port-a-potty' :P But hey, doesn't it look like one of those old-timey fridges??? Maybe? I thought it was funny that the 'fridge' didn't have a freezer, but I was like 'Eh, whatever. They must not have had freezers then :)'. Obviously, I was extremely intelligent yesterday! :)
So, moving on :)
As I was looking through the tents, I saw a chair that I absolutely ADORED!!! I wanted it the minute I saw it :) I could imagine myself lugging it out into a wheat field and snapping some senior portraits! Haha! I told mom I really wanted it, but I never thought I'd be able to afford it. Wouldn't you know it's in the last tent to be sold? Thankfully, it was closer to the beginning. I had told mom that I would be willing to pay $50 for it. They started the bidding at around $200 and dropped it down to $10. Mom and another lady were bidding on it, and when it got up to $50, the other lady said no. So the auctioneer asked mom for $55, and I said 'YES!', because really, what's an extra $5, right? And that was honestly the highest I was going to go. So he waited a bit and said 'SOLD to #198' and I was SOOOOO happy!!!!!!!!!!! Dad was coming to pick Joelle and I {and Oliver} up to go home, and he got there less than a minute after I won! It was a good thing too, because we needed his truck to get it home :) So he and a friend carried it to the truck. Right now, it's sitting out in the carport, because I have no idea where I'm going to put it!!! I just knew I wanted it, and I think that $55 is a fabulous deal, because it's in great shape {plus it's beautiful :)}!
Isn't it beautiful???
Oliver likes it :)
