From Snowy to Slushy

Yucky, yucky, yucky. Snow is great, but NOT in October! I'm supposed to be raking leaves, not making snow angels! Gah.

 {BTW, I didn't go play in the snow. I am not a real 'play-in-the-snow kind of person'}

 It was so weird to see the beautifully colored leaves covered in snow...

 I was afraid that this tree was going to snap! Lots of tress around here were bending down really far...

 I thought the blue scarf looked cool against the white!
 Oliver was cold today {he got a trim on Wednesday}, so we covered him up nicely in his blankets {Are we crazy or what???} :)

And the snow finally stopped, the temperature went up, and snow started melting!

 Hallelujah!

I saw this beautiful leaf while I was walking with Oliver, and it was too cool not to take a picture of!

 {both SOOC, BTW. Actually, all these pictures are}

Today's newspaper said 'First October flakes in Valley since 1979 Fall'... It has flurried since then, but nothing that amounted to anything.

I hope this snow goes ALL away soon! It came way too soon! I like snow, but only when it's Winter, and when it's actually snowing, but I don't like it once it stops snowing. Weird, huh?

When packages come in the mail

Here's a little secret for ya:

Yes, I have been cooking something up, and no one {except for Kathryn and my family :)} knows about it :) Until now of course... Yes! I'm making a business! I've been busily working for weeks on a new site, Facebook page, and everything! But you'll just have to wait to see it :)

 Isn't it so beautiful? I am SO pleased with Moo! I will never order business cards from anywhere else! Seriously, the date I was told my cards would come in was October 27th, and I got them October 20th! I ordered them October 13th! They got here SO fast!

Eep! There they are!

I used one of Moo's options called Printfinity, where you can upload up to 50 different images and they all have the same back! So that's what I did! I got 8 different pictures, with my logo on the back!
 What do you think?

Haha! I've made my new site private so you can't see it! *evil grin* I will post as soon as it's ready!

Ooooh, I looooove business cards :D

Isn't it magnificent?

We went out this afternoon to Riven Rock to scout out a location for our family picture {hoping to get it done one Sunday!} and I found the perfect spot! But first, isn't God's creation simply breathtaking?

And Joelle is too cute:

I had mom looking the other way, so I could stand in the middle of the road. I'm so glad I did, because I love these pictures!!! Especially the second one :)

And here's our family picture spot!
Hopefully it won't be rainy/too sunny, and the leaves will be dry!

Crazy Things That Make Me Happy- .001

Or, Things That Make Me Crazy Happy, you can take your pick :)
Anyway, I am extremely pleased with my latest Wal-Mart find... a hot pink calculator!!!
Isn't it so beautiful???
 I loooove the colorful buttons!
And the best part? Something I didn't even know it had until I got home...
 See that little play button? Or the sideways triangle? Or whatever you may think it is? See it? Good. That, my bloggy friends, is a beautiful button. {my mom is staring over my shoulder, and tells me (quite adamantly) that it most certainly is not a play button, but an erase button. Or a backspace. But I say 6 of 1, half a dozen of another :)*}
Say you type, 1234, but you really wanted to type 1235...
 No need to have to re-type the whole thing, just press the play button!
The last digit will be erased, and you can now type the right number!
Woo-hoo!
 I was telling mom this morning how I needed a calculator like this that would erase the last digit I typed, because I often make dumb little mistakes, once I'm almost done with a loooooong equation :)
This is me, extremely excited about my new fabulously nerdy find!
*And just so you know, my mom is not the ogre I have made her out to be :)

The creek and the chair

For the past two days, there has been a huge auction going on. A lady from our church was selling loads of stuff from her house. There were 3 tents, and each tent had about 3-4 rows, with about 3-4 tables in a row. SO much stuff! A lot of it was vintage and beautiful too :) The property was gorgeous!!! There was a creek, a train track, gorgeous old barns, a gazebo, corn fields, and a beautiful old stone house! The perfect photographers place! Joelle spent lots of time down by the creek, which is unfortunately infested with snakes :P However, they were all gone when we were there because of the load noises and people :)

 Mid blink :)

 Much better!

 She's such a goober!

 Her hair is so long and beautiful...

I made Joelle pose against this beautiful old barn, hence the face :)
 It didn't turn out too well.

 See that??? This house was built in 1775! It is soo old, but in beautiful condition!

Funny story...
We were driving past this thing, and I said to mom 'Hey, that's a cool refrigerator!'... And then she said 'Umm, Emily, that's a port-a-potty' :P But hey, doesn't it look like one of those old-timey fridges??? Maybe? I thought it was funny that the 'fridge' didn't have a freezer, but I was like 'Eh, whatever. They must not have had freezers then :)'. Obviously, I was extremely intelligent yesterday! :)

So, moving on :)

As I was looking through the tents, I saw a chair that I absolutely ADORED!!! I wanted it the minute I saw it :) I could imagine myself lugging it out into a wheat field and snapping some senior portraits! Haha! I told mom I really wanted it, but I never thought I'd be able to afford it. Wouldn't you know it's in the last tent to be sold? Thankfully, it was closer to the beginning. I had told mom that I would be willing to pay $50 for it. They started the bidding at around $200 and dropped it down to $10. Mom and another lady were bidding on it, and when it got up to $50, the other lady said no. So the auctioneer asked mom for $55, and I said 'YES!', because really, what's an extra $5, right? And that was honestly the highest I was going to go. So he waited a bit and said 'SOLD to #198' and I was SOOOOO happy!!!!!!!!!!! Dad was coming to pick Joelle and I {and Oliver} up to go home, and he got there less than a minute after I won! It was a good thing too, because we needed his truck to get it home :) So he and a friend carried it to the truck. Right now, it's sitting out in the carport, because I have no idea where I'm going to put it!!! I just knew I wanted it, and I think that $55 is a fabulous deal, because it's in great shape {plus it's beautiful :)}!

 Isn't it beautiful???

 Oliver likes it :)

Shirt: Kohls | Sweater: unknown | Earrings: Walmart | Skirt: Old Navy | Necklace: Forever 21

So what do you think of my chair? Was it a good deal?
